Send a Document for Signature, Free

You need a client, a tenant, an employee or a parent to sign something, and you don't want to print, scan or chase anyone. Upload the document, mark where they sign and send them a link by email, text or WhatsApp. They sign on their phone in a minute, with no account, and you get the signed PDF back with proof of every signature.

In 30 seconds

  • Upload a PDF or a photo, mark where each person signs and send it by email, text message, WhatsApp or link.
  • Signers don't create an account: they open the link and sign with a finger or mouse.
  • Up to 20 signers per document, at the same time or in order. Automatic reminders.
  • You get one email with the signed PDF and its certificate of completion. 15 requests a month free.

How to send it

  1. Upload the document at Sign a PDF: a PDF, a photo of the paper, or a scan with your phone camera. Choose “Other people”, or “Others and me” if you sign too.
  2. Tap “Mark where they sign” and drag the box into place. Need more? Tap “+ Add a detail”: name, date, initials, address, phone, email, a checkbox to accept, any custom text, or “Ask for a document.”
  3. Several people signing? Tap “+ Add another person who signs.” Up to 20 per document, at the same time or in a set order.
  4. Enter their email or mobile number and send. With text or WhatsApp, your phone opens with the message ready to go. Or tap “Copy link” and send it however you like.
  5. It comes back signed. You get one email when everyone has signed, with the signed PDF and the certificate. Check the status page any time.

Why it's so easy for the signer

  • No account, no app, no password. They tap the link and the document opens in their browser.
  • Made for phones. Large type, one field at a time, one button.
  • Sign with a finger on a phone, or a mouse on a computer.
  • They get their copy when it's done, and we don't email them again after that.
  • Privacy between signers. Each person sees the document and what earlier signers filled in, but not the others' email or phone. In ordered signing, nobody can sign before their turn.

Every extra step for the signer is a reason to put it off. Taking them all out is why documents come back fast.

Yes. Under the federal ESIGN Act, a contract “may not be denied legal effect, validity, or enforceability solely because an electronic signature or electronic record was used in its formation” (15 U.S.C. § 7001(a)). State UETA laws, and New York's own law, say the same. A few documents are excluded, such as wills and certain court and family law papers: see documents that can't be e-signed.
